Cole has a wide experience in school advisory work, initially as a secondment to the Inclusion and Achievement Team for Kent County Council, fulfilling the role of School Improvement Partner across Secondary, Primary and Special settings, including Alternative Provision.  He has worked with settings across the UK, with international schools and has been Chair of a Multi-academy trust in the North of England for 5 years.  He also has over 10 years’ experience in school inspection work.   

In his first Headship at a primary provision, Cole’s practice as a leader and teacher was highly valued by stakeholders (affirmed by an Ofsted outstanding review), leading Governors at a local secondary provision to request executive leadership support on their journey to improvement.  More significantly, he identified effective strategies to build leadership relationships and systems to create a healthy culture of open dialogue and shared vision for strong curriculum and teaching pedagogy. 

Cole challenges himself to prioritise and realise self-development, wellbeing and leadership skills with equal import and impact on outcomes for students and staff. This drive led him to found the Vigeo Partners concept in 2017 to up-skill leaders and managers in sustaining productivity with developmental approaches to improving the quality of education and SEND provision. ‘Vigeo’, meaning to thrive and be productive in life, is now very much part of the mission advocating for both pupil and staff to achieve the best in themselves as they work together.
